Currently, I am an Upper Elementary Teacher, ages (9-12), responsible for the social, emotional, and intellectual growth of all children within a co-teaching environment at Montessori Country School, on Bainbridge Island.
In addition, I am the Specialist for Fitness and Technology. Modeling concepts from the concrete to the abstract,
I integrate whole class, small group, and individualized instruction for independent, self-directed learners across
the curriculum. Fostering freedom of choice with guidance, I model positive discipline, guide for joyful learning,
and encourage respect for self, others and the environment.
Prior to MCS, I earned an AMS Montessori Credential working with children ages (6-9) at Woodinville Montessori School as a co-elementary teacher, in 2013. Additional experience is with Living Montessori Education Community in Bellevue, as a Teacher Assistant, in 2011/12. I hold a K-8 WA State Certificate from the University of Washington/Bothell, with student teaching experience in a 2/3 split class at Newport Heights Elementary, in Bellevue.
Communicating with students and parents in an open and positive manner allows me to effectively teach towards high standards of education and student achievement. I value creativity, self-discovery, life-long learning,
and guide toward collaborative and independent, critical thinking. When freedom of choice is offered in an open, prepared, respectful and socially responsible environment that recognizes and supports where students are developmentally, I see self-confidence grow, inner discipline flourish, and proud choices being made in
preparing children to enter the world.
